Rachel Bloom
NPAC has been a part of Rachel Bloom’s life since she was two years old! She’s been studying dance here for 16 years, and has been part of our staff for the past two years, working closely with our pre-school dance classes and teaching her fun-filled hip hop classes. Rachel is also an excellent athlete, maintaining her involvement with both the track and cross country team and the basketball team while attending Narragansett High School. Rachel currently attends the University of Rhode Island where she is majoring in Kinesiology, and is planning to minor in dance. As a charter member of the Terpsichore Dance Company, Rachel has been trained in many forms of dance, including ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical, contemporary, jazz and hip hop. Being involved in the competition circuit from a young age, Rachel has won numerous awards and special recognition for her performances! She has also played lead roles of Rum Tum Tugger in Cats, The Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz and most recently that of the The Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland. Rachel has studied at RI Ballet Arts Academy under the direction of Nancy McAuliffe, and was a member of RI’s Ballet Theatre. With such an extensive background, Rachel could have chosen any form of dance to teach, but her love is Hip Hop!
Rachel says “NPAC has been a second home to me. I’ve enjoyed teaching hip hop these past two years and I look forward to meeting new students and to having a fun and great year at our new studio!”
