ANNUAL PERFORMANCE INFO

THURSDAY JUNE 21, 2012
Tentative Date for our Dress Rehearsal & Show!

Dates confirmed in March 2012.

Our annual dance performance is held in June of each dance year. Our annual performance is an option to all NPADC dance family members. Students who do not wish to participate still
learn their class routine(s), as it is an important part of their training, yet they will not perform the routine on stage. Whether you're a new member of our family, or if you've been with us for years, please be sure to read through your DANCE-O-GRAM which is sent via e-mail before December 31st for all your performance information. In our never-ending quest to be the best we can be, we periodically change things!

TICKETS:

Tickets to our June performance are $20.00 each. There is currently no minimum requirement, nor maximum limit to the amount of tickets sold per family. IF DEEMED NECESSARY WE MAY PUT A CAP ON THE INITIAL TICKET SALES BY LIMITING EACH FAMILY TO A PREDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TICKETS. DETAILED INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE PRIOR TO TICKET SALES. Please be sure to check your email regularly, or visit the Dance Centre directly for any information regarding ticket sales and
purchases for our annual performance. Tickets are generally available as of June 1st.

MORE ABOUT TICKETS... Dancers wishing to be seated in the audience before or after their performance will need to purchase a ticket in order to enter the auditorium and to secure a seat with their family. Otherwise, dancers are expected to remain backstage during their half of the performance and are not allowed into the auditorium.

COSTUMES:

Costumes for our performance are chosen from quality costume companies. Deposits are collected in November, and the balances are collected in January. Pictures of the costumes may be displayed in our Costume Book, which would be available from January to June in the main reception area. An email will be distributed stating information on the specific color tights, and the type and color of dance shoes to be worn with each costume. It is suggested that tights and shoes be purchased through our office to ensure that all performers have the exact color and style necessary. All dancewear orders must be pre-paid. Costumes are distributed to our students during June, providing all tuition accounts are up to date.

PICTURES:

Our professional dance photographer will be available on a date TBA to take individual and group pictures of our dancers in costume. Order forms indicating the various packages are available on the information desk in the main reception area prior to pictures. A Picture Day Schedule, if applicable, will also be distributed in the Spring. This schedule will indicate the exact date and time your specific class pictures will be taken. The Picture Day schedule may also be accessed via thiswebsite by clicking on Performance and then Picture Day. Dancers will need to have the proper tights and shoes for their pictures, and costumes should be properly sewn, if necessary. Light make-up is required for pictures. Even if you do not wish to have an individual picture taken, please be present for the group photo. Please arrange to be on time for your pictures, so we may stay on target for all our classes!

VIDEO:
Our dance performance is professionally video taped each year. The price of each DVD varies depending on the company we use. Order forms must be handled through our Dance Centre office and will be available in the Spring. All orders must be pre-paid with checks made out to the videographer. You will be able to order DVDs up until the evening of our show, BUT not after that date. There will be a table set up in the foyer of the auditorium to accept any last minute orders the evening of our show. Unless otherwise noted, DVDs will be available for pick up at the Dance Centre office on a date indicated by the Videographer.

DRESS REHEARSAL:

Dress Rehearsal is absolutely MANDATORY and is held the morning of our performance. This is a technical rehearsal as well as a performance rehearsal, therefore we will be adjusting lighting, curtains etc. for each number. An informational update will be distributed in the spring, which will indicate exact times for each half of our performance as well as other pertinent information regarding our performance. Generally, the first half of our performance the children’s production, is rehearsed between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The second half is rehearsed between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

PERFORMANCE NIGHT:

All dancers performing in the first half of the show will need to be backstage no later than 5:30pm dressed and ready to perform. All dancers in the second half of the show will need to report backstage at intermission. Doors to the auditorium will open for seating approximately a half an hour before the show. Audience members are asked to observe the request for NO FOOD OR DRINK in the auditorium, and are respectfully asked to turn all CELL PHONES, PAGERS and other ELECTRONIC DEVICES to silent mode during our performance.
