CLASSES BEGIN ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 9, 2008!
At Narragansett Performing Arts we strive constantly to impress upon our students the important role their dance training will play in their future. Be it for poise, health, recreation, sports or preparation for a career, dancing is invaluable to young people.
Our facility is comprised of professional instructors who, along with their assistants, provide an excellent student/teacher ratio in the classroom. By working together, our teachers and their assistants offer a unique climate for the physical, intellectual and aesthetic growth of students of all ages.
Our program of graded classes in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and all other forms is designed to broaden and enhance technical skills. Our ballet classes are geared to the building of a fine, responsive and articulate instrument of dance. Individual attention is given to proper body alignment at the barre, center, jumps, pirouettes and all other body movements.
All classes are taught in a friendly but disciplined atmosphere, which encourages our students to share in the dialogue of learning together. Students new to our Centre who have received training elsewhere, are placed in the appropriate classes after taking their first and second lessons with us.
Our programs are offered to non-career, career-oriented, adult male, adult female, children and teenage students. Placement is suggested according to age and experience, and is divided into Pre-School, Child, Pre-Teen, Teen and Adult classes.
